Barkers are thrilled to have secured a contract with Jersey Electricity Company (JEC). The utility company, based on the largest of the Channels Islands, are enlisting Barkers’ expertise to perform a procurement transformation review with a particular focus upon supporting their local on-island sourcing strategies.
Barkers’ procurement record within the utility sector, coupled with their extensive experience generating social value regionally, has ensured they are uniquely positioned to support JEC’s aims. Culturally the two organisations have a shared vision to positively impact their local communities and a strong customer focused philosophy.
Warren Kozera, Director at Barkers said “Barkers has completed many procurement transformation reviews in the utility sector and the opportunity to do so within the context of the unique environment of Jersey’s utility services, represents a compelling assignment. Jersey Electricity’s collegiate and customer focused culture, combined with a sustainable and responsible approach to supporting the community, links directly to Barkers values.”
The procurement transformation review will consider JEC’s current policies and procedures concentrating on driving further cost efficiencies and customer service benefits. In particular, Barkers will dedicate time supporting JEC to collaborate effectively with local suppliers, facilitating supply chain performance improvements which will be of benefit to JEC, their on-island supply chain and the local economy.
