And interwoven into the fabric of the Barkers business model is its commitment to social value. To date we have delivered more than £2m in social value via projects that include our own social enterprise Lifescape – an initiative to employ socially excluded groups such as families experiencing intergeneration joblessness, ex-forces, NEETS, and where appropriate ex-offenders. Through our work with Business in The Community as well as countless charitable endeavours we’ve built a rich network of interwoven opportunities to create social value through commercial sustainable and innovative solutions.
In 2018 we won one of the very first Sellafield Linc tenders, delivering enhancements to their procurement policies and procedures, resulting in the rollout of a successful digital portal.
In 2019 we're supporting procurement transformation by delivering a strategic category management process, providing the necessary tools, templates and training to support this significant business change.
